How Does Mii QR Decoding Work?
When you export a Mii as a QR code from your Nintendo 3DS, the console takes the Mii's entire DNA—its hairstyle, eye shape, favorite color, name, and creator—and compresses it into a binary format known as FFLiMiiData. This data is exactly 96 bytes long. The 3DS then encodes these raw 96 bytes into a standard visual QR code.
Our web tool reverses this process securely inside your browser. We use an advanced JavaScript scanning algorithm to visually read the uploaded QR code image, extract the hidden 96-byte binary payload, and parse the UTF-16 encoded text strings. This reveals the exact Mii Name and Creator Name embedded inside.

Why Can't I See Tomodachi Life Specific Stats?
A standard Mii QR code contains universal data that works across all games (Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, etc.). However, games like Tomodachi Life require extra data, such as the Mii's Voice Pitch, Personality type, and Apartment Interior. To protect this data, Nintendo encrypts Tomodachi Life specific QR codes using a proprietary private key. While we can easily extract the standard Name and Creator data, the extended Tomodachi stats remain securely locked by the console's encryption.
